Who we are
 Fulfilling
Connections at Angels in Horse Hairs is a 501(c)(3) non-profit
in Pennsylvania, and all donations are tax deductible. All of our workshops/programs are
based on the powerful and engaging research of the Search
Institute. For 50 years Search Institute, a non-profit,
nonsectarian organization, has pursued this Mission: To provide
leadership, knowledge, and resources to promote healthy
children, youth, and communities.
Search Institute research provides information steeped in the
latest wisdom of what's needed for our young to thrive.
What do we do?
This is not about horsemanship, or horseback riding. All
interactive activities with the horses are working with the
horse as a partner. We pair an individual with a
horse, usually of similar personality traits, and ask them to
complete a task. Under supervision, but not to interfere
with the client's experience.
Fulfilling Connections at Angels in Horse Hairs offers a mobile
program, in which members of a medical facility, schools, or
institutions are engaged in our services at their facility.
Currently our services are posted for families on ABOARD, PaFamiliesInc, and Wraparound Services on an as needed basis.
Parents have been so excited about something like this for their
children they usually comment - they didn't know this was
available in our area.
WE WILL HOST AND DO FUNDRAISING FOR ANY SCHOOL OR
INSTITUTION TO GATHER RESOURCES OR FUNDING TO SEND THEIR
STUDENTS TO US!
We were the first to offer behavioral and learning services
through our equine facilitated learning in Western
Pennsylvania. We served NHS School, and currently have
individuals enrolled with ADHD, ADD, Asperger's, and trauma.
It's our co-facilitation skills that makes all the difference!
Fulfilling Connections currently offers day camps and
after-school workshops for all students including the autistim
spectrum disorder. All students learn to develop social skills:
awareness of body language, identifying appropriate behaviors,
awareness of others, listening skills, following directions, and
having fun! They work at THEIR own pace, In a safe learning
environment.
We also work on life skills for at-risk youth, trauma victims,
PTSD and meet the families goals, or medical professionals
goals. Doctors, and therapists may prescribe a camp/workshop for
their patients who need to boost their self-esteem, establish
healthy boundaries or social skills. Fulfilling Connections
charts each clients progress with a rubric generated to meet the
goals of the client, therapist or family.
Interestingly, the same improvement in self-esteem applies
to many adults and the connection is beautiful!
Horses perform amazing work when it comes to teaching people!
The more I observe, the stronger my passion grows in this field.
In fact, Our goal is to think in full circle terms, which
includes the entire family to solve their most important needs.
Other workshops include, care for the CareGiver and Trauma
Support. Professional Presentations are available on or off
campus with a two week notice.
